Systems
A typical
metal belt will contain a drive and driven (idler) pulley, a tensioning
device, and a steel belt being pulled by the drive pulley.
Note that the design does not have any reverse bends, and incorporates
the use of a steering and tensioning block on the idler pulley.
In this graphic, we are using a timing
pulley for positioning accuracy. An alternative to the
illustrated steering yoke is the Belt Technologies Independently
Steerable Pulley, which offers an intuitive method of belt tracking.
